Impact of Covid-19 pandemic on Performance and Progress data
The Government’s Department for Education (DfE) has announced that it has not published primary level test or assessment data for 2020, 2021 or 2022. Attainment data will be published for 2023. However, the DfE has outlined that Primary Progress measure will not be produced or published for 2023-24 and 2024-25.
The gap in published data makes it difficult to compare schools based on performance and progress statistics.
The latest school data available from the DfE has been displayed, and will be updated according to Government release of new data.
What Are Key Stage 4 Assessments?
These assessments occur at the end of secondary school (Year 11) and include GCSE exams, which are crucial for future education and employment opportunities. Key Measures Explained:
GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education): Exams in various subjects, graded 9 to 1, that determine your child’s academic performance.
English Baccalaureate (EBacc): A set of GCSE subjects that provide a broad academic foundation (includes English, Maths, Science, a language, and History or Geography).
Attainment 8: An average score based on your child’s performance in eight GCSE subjects, including core subjects and a mix of others.
Entering Education and Employment: The percentage of students continuing in education or entering employment after leaving school.
What Else to Consider:Look beyond test scores: evaluate the school’s environment, extracurricular activities, support services, and overall ethos to ensure it supports your child’s all-round development.
