Chief Executive Officer
Upkar has a blend of creative, strategic and analytical skills. He has a background in enterprise development and many years' experience of senior management of higher education and of establishing schools in the UK and aiding the development of universities in Africa.
He is passionate about the strategic direction and positioning of MyEd to become a force for transforming all levels of education. Away from MyEd, Upkar devotes his time to his three young grandchildren and to his charitable work. He is a keen cook and enjoys hosting dinner parties for family and friends.
Director of Service Design and Transformation
Harmil has a background in marketing and management in the higher education and digital technology sectors. Harmil leads on the transformation and design of education services by using open and user-generated data. He works closely with our key strategic partners to jointly develop, test and launch new digital and personalised solutions to benefit society.
As a father of two children in primary school, Harmil brings first-hand knowledge of the challenges parents face in making informed decisions about their children’s education journeys. Harmil has a passion for personal development, motivation and holistic living. He enjoys long walks and all activities that he can get his kids involved in, especially tree climbing, arts and crafts.
Director of Creative Digital Engagement
With a background in visual communications, art direction and social media engagement, Eamon leads the creative strategy and development at MyEd. Eamon manages MyEd’s technical and creative teams to build our unique and disruptive personalised education services.
Eamon can often be found in the gym or on his motorcycle when away from work. A keen photographer and new technology enthusiast, he is also a foodie who loves to eat.

Working across the arts, higher education and healthcare sectors, Joy’s varied career has taken in most aspects of marketing and communications, new systems integration, project management and programme development. Working closely with the directors, Joy’s role encompasses market research, business development and communications.
A New York native, Joy spends most of her spare time with her husband and three young children, occasionally finding time to sing with Birmingham-based choir Ex Cathedra, of which she is also a Board member and Trustee.

Schools admissions adviser
Sue is a school admissions specialist with over 37 years’ experience in the public sector. As IT/Data and Fair Access Manager in the School Admissions team of Birmingham City Council, she was responsible for working with major suppliers of back-end Schools Information Management Systems, as well as the digitisation of admissions processes. In her current role as School Admissions Products Manager with CACI, Sue’s role is to identify the sector’s technology and innovation needs as it responds to the government’s desire for all schools to belong to Multi-Academy Trusts by 2025. Sue has extensive experience of school governance from both local authority and school perspectives.
Sue advises the team on the development of MyEd Search and MyEd OpenSchool and on their integration with LAs’ and schools’ information management systems.

Kiran is the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Partnerships and Engagement at the University of York and Director of the Centre for Women’s Enterprise, Leadership, Economy & Diversity. She is a specialist in the fields of leadership, enterprise development and diversity in small firms. Kiran is known nationally and internationally for her contributions to policy formation supporting the growth and development of small firms in general, and ethnic minority businesses, in particular. She was one of the principal commissioners on the West Midlands Leadership Commission, which introduced a new research and policy agenda on leadership diversity for the West Midlands combined authority.
Kiran contributes to the strategic development of MyEd and facilitates engagement with local, regional and national policy makers.

Satvir is a multi-award-winning Managing Director at a global business advisory firm where he works with entrepreneurially-spirited and high-growth businesses, advising them on achieving strategic goals through mergers and acquisition activity. He has an influential industry role in the UK business services sector and has completed many high-profile UK and cross-border corporate transactions. With over 20 years’ large corporate experience, Satvir is now ranked in the top 100 most influential ethnic minority executive leaders by the EMpower 2020 list.

The ODI was co-founded in 2012 by the inventor of the web, Sir Tim Berners-Lee and artificial intelligence expert, Sir Nigel Shadbolt to maximise the value of open data and to advocate the innovative use of open data to affect positive change across the globe.
MyEd has partnered the ODI in examining the impact of lockdown on primary school pupils and their families. The ODI is also a partner in the research and development of the MyEd Open School app, funded by Innovate UK (IUK) to help teachers deliver quality, structured home schooling.

In 2017, MyEd secured a place on Birmingham City Council’s Big Data Corridor programme, aimed at helping businesses in the Birmingham and Solihull area to develop data-driven products and services. Since then, MyEd has worked in collaboration with Birmingham City Council to research, develop, test and refine the ways in which local authorities collect and publish up-to-date essential school admissions information for parents.
